Parabolic Leaf Design

This is a future research mini-project that was thought of by one of the high school students that work with the STEAM Tree group. Dar Jankovic is a sophomore in high school and he thought of this idea while working on the STEAM Trees leaf design. The design he developed would have a parabolic curvature, with two sides (as shown in the image). It would make use of mirrors to reflect the rays of the sun into the solar panels that are opposite of them. This would allow for more effective energy production and increase exposure.

VR IDEA Project

This project is a research project developed by two of our UConn undergraduate students. Vuk Jankovic and Andela Stefanovic developed this idea while working on the STEAM Tree project. This project will include the creation of a virtual model of the STEAM Tree which will use a VR set as a tool for people to witness and learn about the tree when they are not there in person. This project will also explore and compare the effectiveness of traditional learning, online learning, and the use of VR as a learning tool for the future.
